What to see and do in Prádanos de Ojeda

Prádanos de Ojeda
Village
Prádanos de Ojeda is a village in Palencia province, at 927 metres above sea level, which reached 1,086 residents in the mid-19th century. Its name comes from the Latin pratum, meadow, with the suffix -anos indicating belonging, referring to the meadows and pastures that surrounded the place; Ojeda, in turn, derives from the verb ojear (to glance) and alludes to a spot from which the view is commanded. Its church of San Cristóbal, the largest in the area, holds an organ built in Sasamón in 1782. Today the village has barely more than 180 inhabitants.

Curiosity
The instrument that presides over the choir was built in 1782 in the Burgos town of Sasamón by the organ builder Antonio Ruiz, an unexpected piece in a village that today does not reach two hundred households.
