What to see and do in Gordaliza del Pino

Gordaliza del Pino
Village
Gordaliza del Pino is a village of León of about 240 inhabitants, at 819 metres of altitude, in the comarca of Sahagún, overlooking the Pozuelo stream, a tributary of the Rujidero stream, which in turn flows into the río Cea. Its economy has traditionally been agricultural, and in recent decades it has suffered a process of depopulation linked to the ageing of its inhabitants and emigration to larger towns. Part of the south of its territory is included in the Special Protection Area for Birds of La Nava-Campos Norte, within the Natura 2000 Network. Until the mid-19th century it belonged to the municipality of Villeza, from which it became independent before the 1857 census; at that time it had 226 inhabitants. It preserves the church of Nuestra Señora de Arbás.
