What to see and do in Izagre

Izagre
Village
Izagre is a León municipality of about 130 inhabitants, on the plain of the León Tierra de Campos, between 765 and 828 metres altitude, 56 kilometres from the city of León; the hamlets of Albires and Valdemorilla also form part of the municipality. Its name appears as Izraq in 1044 and is related to the Arabic tagr, "frontier", characteristic of the Mozarabic resettlement that affected various areas of northern Spain, a colonisation process in which people from elsewhere settled on this grain-growing plain to establish and repopulate the border territory between the Christian kingdoms and Al-Andalus.
