Prádanos de Bureba
Village
Prádanos de Bureba lies in the corridor of the Burgos Bureba, through which the motorway, the old N-1 road, the railway and the Oca river run together, between the northern plateaus, which reach 860 metres, and the Montes de Oca to the south, which reach 895 metres; the village stands at 756 metres, 34 kilometres from the capital. It belonged to the cuadrilla of Prádano, one of the seven of the old Merindad de Bureba, under crown jurisdiction; when the Old Regime fell it was constituted as the town council of the Briviesca district, with 259 inhabitants. In the mid-19th century an optical telegraph tower was built in its municipal area, now in ruins. With 54 inhabitants, it celebrates its patron Santa Eufemia on 18 September, with three days of mass, procession, popular games and dances.
