What to see and do in Paredes de Sigüenza

Paredes de Sigüenza
Village
Paredes de Sigüenza is a municipality of the northern sierra of Guadalajara, at the point of contact between the Sistema Central and the Sistema Ibérico, next to the Sierra Ministra and near the source of the río Salado; its territory, which also includes the settlement of Rienda, lies at 1,003 m of altitude, 26 km from Sigüenza and 95 km from the provincial capital. Until the reform of municipal nomenclature in 1916 the municipality was called simply Paredes, a name to which the reference to neighbouring Sigüenza was then added. In the mid-19th century it had 270 inhabitants; today it has only 21 (INE 2025). It celebrates its patron San Julián on 28 August and the Virgen del Sagrario on the second weekend of May.
