Medranda
Village
Medranda is a municipality of the northern sierra of Guadalajara, in Castilla-La Mancha, situated on flat ground at 807 metres of altitude, on the banks of the río Cañamares. It formed part of the old Sexmo de Bornoba, and with the fall of the Ancien Régime it was constituted as a constitutional municipality within the region of Old Castile. Towards the mid-19th century it had around 200 inhabitants, a population that has today shrunk to 83. It preserves a parish church dedicated to the Nativity of Mary and a well-built cemetery constructed in 1805.
