Torremochuela
Village
Torremochuela is a small municipality of the Señorío de Molina, in the province of Guadalajara, tied with Villanueva de Gormaz as the least populated municipality in Spain: barely 6 inhabitants according to the INE, compared with the 124 it had in the mid-19th century. It preserves the church of the Purificación de Nuestra Señora, as well as woodland of oak, holm oak, savin juniper and rosemary. Its festival, around the first weekend of August, brings together some 200 people each year with music, discos, football, pelota and padel tournaments, fancy-dress, croquette and omelette contests, and a banquet prepared by cooks from the comarca with produce from the municipality's vegetable gardens.
