Terzaga
Village
Terzaga is a municipality in the south of the Señorío de Molina, in Guadalajara, at about 1,179 metres of altitude, within the Alto Tajo natural park and the Molina-Alto Tajo Geopark. It has barely 24 inhabitants (INE 2025) and within its territory lies the uninhabited hamlet of Terzaguilla. In the Iberian System, with a rugged landscape of ravines and gorges, it is crossed by the Bullones and Cabrillas rivers, amid juniper groves and pine woods; its climate, within the Triángulo de Hielo, is among the coldest in Spain, with winters below -15°C. It is believed to have existed already as a Celtiberian settlement, with remains of a hillfort. It preserves the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, from 1772-1778, the work of José Martín de Aldehuela, and remains of medieval salinas; the pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Cabeza is on the first Sunday of June.
