Tierzo is a municipality of the Señorío de Molina, in the Sexma del Sabinar, at 1,141 metres above sea level and 154 km from the provincial capital, Guadalajara. It is part of the Molina-Alto Tajo Geopark and borders the Alto Tajo natural park; the Three Taifas route of the Camino del Cid passes through its municipal area. In the hamlet of Vega de Arias stands its main monument, the fortified house of Vega de Arias, from the 13th century, declared a historic-artistic monument in 1975. Also found within its boundaries are the Armallá salt works, of ancient origin and rebuilt in the time of Charles III, and the church of the Natividad de la Virgen, with an entrance arch from 1754.
