What to see and do in Fuente de Pedro Naharro

Fuente de Pedro Naharro
Village
Fuente de Pedro Naharro is a municipality in the La Mancha Conquense district, in the province of Cuenca, with 1,290 inhabitants, which was a hamlet of Uclés until Charles V granted it its own jurisdiction around 1535. Its patron saint festivities, in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, are held on the third weekend of September and are known for the Toros de Fuego, which culminate on the last night with a great "carretillada" and fireworks around the chapel. The most beloved festivity, however, is the galopeo: the whole village walks, accompanied by the band, along a route around the town, getting covered in eggs, flour and tomato. It preserves the church of San Andrés Apóstol, originating in the 15th century and built in the 16th and 17th centuries, with frescoes in its chapels, and the chapel of the Virgen de la Soledad, from the 18th century.
