What to see and do in Tinajas

Tinajas
Village
Tinajas is a municipality in La Alcarria Conquense, in the province of Cuenca, located at about 866 m above sea level, with compact settlement and no outlying hamlets; it has 184 inhabitants (INE 2025), compared with the 533 it gathered in the mid-19th century. Its history goes back to the Palaeolithic and the Iron Age, and King Charles I granted it town status, a privilege recorded in a document from 1787. It preserves the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Paz, built of ashlar, next to the large houses of the village that stand out for their religiously themed facades, and nearby the single-storey hermitage of El Campillo.
