What to see and do in Saceda-Trasierra

Saceda-Trasierra
Village
Saceda-Trasierra is a municipality in the district of La Alcarria Conquense, in the province of Cuenca, located in the Sierra de Altomira, with a population of 33 inhabitants, one of the smallest in the province. Its parish church of the Asunción has been documented since the 19th century. Tradition maintains the pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Virgen de Altomira and, during Holy Week, the Paso del Cristo del Amparo. Its cuisine preserves dishes such as gachas, made from wheat flour, grated pork or veal liver, oil, paprika and caraway, served with crispy bacon; puches, a sweet porridge of flour, oil and sugar; papartas, thin bread cakes fried in very hot oil; and torcíos, sweet corkscrew-shaped doughnuts made from flour, water, sugar and aniseed.
