Codos
Village
Codos is a small municipality in the Comunidad de Calatayud comarca, in the province of Zaragoza, with 237 inhabitants, situated at about 750 metres in altitude on a municipal area of more than 60 square kilometres where the Grío and Güeimil rivers rise. Its parish church is dedicated to Santa María Magdalena, and agriculture relies mainly on cherry and peach trees. The main festival, in honour of the Virgen del Mar, is celebrated on 4 September, along with San Blas on 3 February and San Isidro on 15 May. Here in 1713 was born the Jesuit Miguel Blasco, who travelled to the Viceroyalty of New Granada and founded the municipality of Güicán, in the present-day Colombian department of Boyacá.
