Bulbuente
Village
Bulbuente is a municipality of 250 inhabitants in the Campo de Borja, province of Zaragoza, 70 kilometres from the provincial capital. It has borne several names throughout its history: in the time of Jaime I it was called Bolbuén, Bulbón or Bolbón, and in the 15th century it appears as Borbuen. It lies on the left bank of the río Huecha, next to springs such as the Fuennueva, at 519 metres above sea level, while the highest point of the municipal territory, the Muela Codazamarrera, reaches 768 metres. The climate, Mediterranean continental, is marked by the cierzo, the north-west wind. The municipality concentrates the comarca's beekeeping production, with hives scattered across hills of thyme, rosemary and lavender at the foot of the Moncayo, which yield single-flower rosemary honey and wildflower honey.
