What to see and do in Torre de Arcas

Torre de Arcas
Village
Torre de Arcas, a small municipality of Teruel in the Matarraña, sits at 745 metres above sea level between the sierras of Marondes, Monegrell and Sabinosos, in a rugged terrain ranging between 570 and 1,151 metres. It preserves the Renaissance church of San Bernardo, built in several phases — most of it in the 17th century, although its tower and doorway, from the 16th century, date from 1595 —, the Baroque ermita of the same saint and a medieval stone bridge beside which the Font Vella spring flows. From 19 to 22 August it celebrates its main festivities in honour of San Bernardo, patron saint of the town, with a pilgrimage to its ermita where liqueurs and pastries are handed out. The municipality, with 76 inhabitants according to the 2025 INE, had close to 485 in the mid-19th century.
