What to see and do in Adahuesca

Adahuesca
Village
Adahuesca is a municipality in the comarca of Somontano de Barbastro, in Huesca, next to the Parque Cultural del Río Vero, at the foot of the sierra de Guara, whose natural park covers a good part of its territory. Like the rest of the villages of the Somontano, it has suffered heavy depopulation: it was the seat of a judicial district, with a magistrates' court and a Guardia Civil barracks, and today has around 150 inhabitants registered year-round. It lives off rural tourism, hunting and the agri-food industry, with the Quesos de Radiquero cheese factory and Somontano appellation wine. The castle of Adahuesca was sold by Pedro IV de Aragón to Manuel de Entenza in 1381 and by Juan I to Bartolomé Rollán in 1388. Nearby stands the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Treviño, a Monumento Nacional (a former Spanish heritage protection category, equivalent to National Monument). It has 196 inhabitants (INE 2025).
