What to see and do in Jasa

Jasa
Village
Jasa, documented since 1108 as Iassa, is a small municipality in the Aragüés valley (La Jacetania, Huesca), at 944 metres of altitude, with a stone centre that preserves the area's traditional pastoral architecture. It was the lordship of Pedro Cornel from 1276 until the Crown recovered it in 1293 under James II, incorporating it definitively in 1397 under Martin I. Together with Ansó, Aragüés del Puerto and Valle de Hecho it forms the Mancomunidad de Los Valles, and part of its territory is included in the Parque Natural de los Valles Occidentales. It preserves the 16th-century Gothic church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, and an ethnological museum housed in the hermitage of San Pedro. Its main festival is celebrated on 15 August in honour of the Virgen de la Asunción, with the traditional Palotiau dance.
