What to see and do in Yésero

Yésero
Village
Yésero is a municipality of the Serrablo, in the comarca of Alto Gállego, province of Huesca, in the inner ranges of the Pyrenees, in the Sía ravine, a tributary of the Gállego, with 60 inhabitants. Documented since the 11th century, it reached its height at the end of the 15th century, when it was the most important settlement in the Valle de Gavín, with more than thirty households. It preserves a medieval town centre, with facades of thick stone walls typical of Serrablo architecture, and its church is one of the comarca's Mozarabic churches. Its economy, agricultural and pastoral, once included timber extraction and the making of pitch from pine resin, trades now abandoned except for cattle raising. Since 2008 it has hosted every July Brioleta, a literary gathering of Aragonese women writers.
