Zúñiga
Village
A municipality of 78 inhabitants at a narrowing of the Ega valley, next to Álava. In 1482 it obtained the status of buena villa with a vote in the Cortes, and in 1958 it founded Spain's first agricultural cooperative; it preserves medieval walls and the Gothic-Renaissance church of Santa María, with a Plateresque altarpiece.
