What to see and do in Urroz-Villa

Urroz-Villa
Village
Urroz-Villa, in the basin of Aoiz-Lumbier at 526 m altitude, received its fuero (charter) and its own private court from King Sancho VII the Strong in 1195, and by 1454 it already ranked among the principal towns of Navarre. Near the village once stood the powerful castle of Leguín, torn down by order of Cardinal Cisneros. It has 403 inhabitants (INE 2025), watered by the Erro river on its way to the Irati.
Plaza de El Ferial, Urroz-Villa
Monument
At 10,000 m², the arcaded Plaza de El Ferial of Urroz-Villa is the third-largest public square in Navarre and hosts fairs documented since at least 1286.
Iglesia de Santa María de la Asunción, Urroz-Villa
Monument
A Gothic church built between the 14th and 16th centuries, with a mid-16th-century Renaissance altarpiece by Miguel de Espinal and later polychrome work by Pedro de Landa, from 1632.
Palacio de Torreblanca y crucero de la Trinidad, Urroz-Villa
Monument
The Palacio de Torreblanca, registered as a cabo de armería (head-of-lineage manor) palace, belonged to a family of Navarrese ricoshombres (high nobility). The wayside cross of the Trinidad, a 16th-century Gothic cross protected by a wooden shelter, has iconography similar to other pieces from the castle of Javier.

Ferias de Urroz-Villa
Activity
Urroz-Villa celebrates the fiestas of the Asunción on 15 August and, from 11 to 14 November, the Ferias de San Martín, a modern craft fair that is heir to the old livestock markets.
