Lomoviejo
Village
Lomoviejo is a village of 155 inhabitants in the province of Valladolid, located eighteen kilometres from Medina del Campo and about 72 from the provincial capital. Towards the mid-19th century it had 252 inhabitants. It preserves a church dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, built around 1500, which still holds 15th-century paintings, as well as the remains of an old hermitage and several fountains that served as a water supply and washing place. Its patron saint festivities are held on the first Sunday of October, and in December young people ask for aguinaldo on the feast of the Holy Innocents. The village advertises itself with the slogan Lomoviejo, la costa del torrezno, which arose from the advertising of a local bar in the 1970s and 1980s.

Food and drink
The village advertises itself as the coast of the torrezno, in memory of the fried pork belly tapa that its bars served in the seventies and eighties and that ended up becoming the emblem of the municipality.
