What to see and do in Valdemaluque

Valdemaluque
Village
Valdemaluque is a municipality in Soria of 139 inhabitants across almost 63 square kilometres, which brings together, alongside Valdemaluque itself, the hamlets of Aylagas, Sotos del Burgo, Valdeavellano and Valdelinares, the last three incorporated in the mid-19th century and Aylagas in 1969. In the 1787 census it appeared as a lordship place of the bishop of Osma, with ecclesiastical jurisdiction and a pedáneo mayor appointed by him. In the 19th century its «fine hills populated with oak, juniper and savin» were praised, part of which is still protected within the Sabinares Sierra de Cabrejas site of community importance. In the town there is a church under the patronage of San Juan Evangelista.
