What to see and do in Zarapicos

Zarapicos
Village
Zarapicos is a municipality of 50 inhabitants covering barely 7.6 square kilometres, in the Salamanca district of Tierra de Ledesma, which also includes the depopulated hamlet of Aldehuela de la Huelga. Founded during the medieval repopulation by the kings of León and included in the cuarto de Baños of the jurisdiction of Salamanca, it is cited as Çarapicos in the fuero (charter) that Ferdinand II of León granted to Ledesma in 1161. With the creation of the provinces in 1833 it was placed within Salamanca, in the Leonese Region. Between 2008 and 2023 its town council recorded no outstanding debt. It preserves the Santiago Apóstol church as the village's main monument.
