What to see and do in Polentinos

Polentinos
Village
Polentinos is a hamlet in the Montaña area, in Palencia province, with about forty inhabitants at 1,224 metres, set in a deep valley between slopes of oak and beech next to the Montaña Palentina nature park; in the mid-19th century it still had 167 residents. It borders the districts of San Salvador de Cantamuda and Cervera de Pisuerga, two nearby localities within the same area, and has nearby the Requejada reservoir, at the head of the Pisuerga.
Church of Nuestra Señora de la Antigua de Polentinos
Monument
A Gothic church with a round-arched doorway, covered with ribbed vaults and with several altarpieces inside; it is the main building of one of the most isolated hamlets of the upper Pisuerga valley.
Parish cross of Polentinos
Curiosity
The most notable piece of the parish's furnishings is a sixteenth-century processional cross wrought by a Palencia silversmith, an unexpected jewel of goldsmithing in a village of barely a few dozen households.
