What to see and do in Zotes del Páramo

Zotes del Páramo
Village
Zotes del Páramo is a municipality in the Páramo Leonés comarca that groups together, besides the town that gives it its name, Zambroncinos del Páramo and Villaestrigo del Páramo. According to what Pascual Madoz's Dictionary recorded in the mid-19th century, it then had a school, a town hall and a jail, the parish church of San Pedro and the hermitage of Our Lady of the Village, still its patroness today; of that hermitage barely a fragment of adobe and rammed-earth wall remains. In those same years eight linseed-oil mills operated in the municipality. It lies at 780 metres above sea level and today has about 385 inhabitants.
Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Aldea
Monument
Of the hermitage Madoz recorded beside the parish church of San Pedro, only scant remains are left today. The municipality, which also takes in Zambroncinos and Villaestrigo del Páramo, had eight linseed oil mills in the 19th century.
