Fresno de Rodilla
Village
Fresno de Rodilla is a hamlet of the Alfoz de Burgos, with 49 inhabitants, on the eastern edge of the Burgos alfoz, on the way to the Alto de la Brújula pass. It was part of the Alfoz and Jurisdiction of Burgos, one of the fourteen districts of the Intendancy of Burgos between 1785 and 1833, with crown jurisdiction and a local mayor (alcalde pedáneo), as recorded in the Floridablanca Census of 1787. In the mid-19th century it had 96 registered residents, more than double its current population, according to Pascual Madoz's Dictionary. The municipality has its own heraldic coat of arms and flag, officially approved on 16 April 2002.
