What to see and do in Albillos

Albillos
Village
Albillos is a municipality in the province of Burgos, in the comarca of Alfoz de Burgos, ten kilometres from the provincial capital, with 220 inhabitants and the Riocabia farmstead as its only hamlet. Under the Ancien Régime it was a lordship of the marquis of Villarreal, who acted as the town's ordinary mayor. From that period comes the Cartagena tower, from the 14th century, which in the 1960s was bought by the owners of the Landa hotel in Burgos as a publicity feature and moved stone by stone to its present site beside the A-1 motorway. The village also preserves the church of Santa María la Mayor.
