La Olmeda de Jadraque
Village
La Olmeda de Jadraque is a municipality of the northern sierra of Guadalajara, situated at 983 m of altitude, with 11.71 km2 of territory and 18 inhabitants (INE 2025) — compared with the 160 recorded in the mid-19th century — a few kilometres from Sigüenza. Crossed by the río Salado between oak and holm oak woods, its old salt works came to produce tens of thousands of fanegas of salt a year. In 2022 the municipality was added to Unesco's Tentative List of World Heritage within the candidacy of the Sweet and Salty Landscape of Sigüenza and Atienza.
