Nature
Raña platforms situated above 900 metres in altitude that form, together with those of Matarrubia and Casa de Uceda, a protected site of the Natura 2000 network (LIC code ES4240004), with a combined area of 1,315.86 hectares, of which 221.05 belong to Villaseca. The site, with a continentalised Mediterranean climate, preserves holm oak and quejigo oak woodlands, a well-developed juniper grove and, in its eastern sector, the only stand of cork oaks in the province of Guadalajara, relict in character and protected for its uniqueness. The area is vulnerable to forest fires and to erosion caused by earth movements.
