A municipality in the comarca of Serranía Media-Campichuelo y Serranía Baja, in the province of Cuenca, 58 km northeast of the provincial capital, near Campillos-Sierra, Valdemorillo de la Sierra, La Cierva and Cañete. In its municipal area lies the Celtiberian hillfort of Los Casares, dated to the 3rd century BC, beside the Arroyo del Prado Moralejo and the río Guadazaón. In the 16th century it took in Jewish families who suffered reprisals from the Señorío de Albarracín during the revolts against the Marquisate of Moya. The site of La Balsa combines cascades, pools and a seven-metre waterfall whose waters flow into the Guadazaón, the Cabriel and the Júcar, near the Cueva de la Mora. The patronal festival is celebrated on 8 September, the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin. It has 96 inhabitants (INE 2025).
