What to see and do in Val de San Martín

Val de San Martín
Village
Val de San Martín is a municipality in the Campo de Daroca, in Zaragoza, situated at 897 metres above sea level, with 55 inhabitants. In 1248, by privilege of James I, it broke away from Daroca to join the sesma del Campo de Gallocanta, within the Comunidad de Aldeas de Daroca, dissolved in 1838. It preserves the parish church of San Blas, whose five-sided polygonal apse, covered with ribbed vaults, dates from the 13th century, with additions from the 14th and 15th centuries and an 18th-century brick tower; it was restored in 2011. In its municipal area several peirones also stand, dedicated to San Antón, San Blas, San Roque and San Quílez, along with the remains of the deserted village of San Miguel de Cebollada.
