What to see and do in Pomer

Pomer
Village
Pomer is one of the smallest municipalities in the comarca of Aranda, in Zaragoza, with barely 23 inhabitants over 33 square kilometres. Set on a natural balcony overlooking the Aranda valley, at 1,107 metres above sea level, it is the highest village in the comarca and the second-highest in the whole province; the río Aranda rises within its territory. It was inhabited by Mudéjars during the late Middle Ages and in the 17th century passed to the counts of Aranda. Its main building is the parish church, dedicated to la Asunción, of Romanesque origin - of which only the baptismal font survives - and remodelled in late Gothic style in the 16th century, with a Mannerist Gothic portal. Completing its heritage are a circular snow well and several underground wine cellars.
