What to see and do in Torrijas

Torrijas
Village
Torrijas is a small municipality in the comarca of Gúdar-Javalambre, in the province of Teruel, at 1,359 metres above sea level and with barely 36 inhabitants. It belonged to the community of villages of Teruel, within the Sesma del Campo de Sarrión, until the provincial division of 1833. Its parish church of San Cosme and San Damián, Baroque and from the 18th century, preserves a 16th-century panel of the Holy Family; beneath the arcades of the town hall were the village's former cells. Bread from its oven is renowned in the comarca, and alongside it one can sample lamb chops and Teruel ham. Close to the Aramón Javalambre ski resort, it celebrates its main festivities in late September in honour of San Cosme and San Damián.
