What to see and do in Salcedillo

Salcedillo
Village
Salcedillo is a small municipality of the Cuencas Mineras, in the province of Teruel, and the least populated municipality in Aragon, with only 14 inhabitants, compared with the 57 it had in the mid-19th century. Situated at 1,195 metres above sea level beside the río Segura, 89 km from the capital, it is one of the highest villages in the comarca and borders the municipalities of Anadón, Segura de los Baños, Allueva and Torrecilla del Rebollar. In 1328 Alfonso IV sold Huesa and its hamlets, including Salcedillo, to Pedro de Luna, and it became part of the sesma of the Honor de Huesa, within the comunidad de aldeas de Daroca, dissolved in 1838. Its parish church is dedicated to San Miguel Arcángel.
