What to see and do in Santa Cilia

Santa Cilia
Village
Santa Cilia is a municipality in La Jacetania, in Huesca, situated on the Aragonese Camino de Santiago and with part of its territory within the Paisaje Protegido de San Juan de la Peña y Monte Oroel, near the monastery of Santa Cruz de la Serós. It was called Santa Cilia de Jaca until 1999, when it officially recovered its historic name, documented since the year 1098. With 244 inhabitants, it celebrates several festivals throughout the year: the pilgrimage to the Virgen de la Peña on 29 April, San Isidro on 15 May, the Natividad de la Virgen on 8 September, and, on 22 November, Santa Cecilia, its patron saint. Its heraldic coat of arms, crowned with a closed royal crown, shows an organ and a lamb with a cross and a banner, next to a sable bridge on waves of azure and silver.
