Village
Municipality of 18.8 km² and 266 inhabitants (2015), on the border with Navarre, at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño and Sierra de Cantabria. Ermita de Santa María de Bercijana, Yécora/Iekora
Monument
Located a little over a kilometer from the village, it was built between the 13th and 14th centuries; local tradition links its location to the apparition of the Virgin to a shepherd from Yécora named Berciján. The town, documented since the 11th century as Equora, was a hamlet of Laguardia until Charles II granted it the title of villa in 1669.
Villazgo de Yécora

King Carlos II granted Yécora the title of town in 1669; the municipality historically had as many as fourteen chapels and includes the deserted settlements of Esquide and San Millán.
Fiesta de Santo Domingo
Activity
Procession from the village to the chapel of Bercijana with the traditional "la cadena" dance and the transfer of the image of the Virgen de Bercijana to the parish church.
