Ermita de Santa María de Bercijana, Yécora/Iekora Monument · Yécora/Iekora, Cuadrilla de Laguardia-Rioja Alavesa, Álava Image of Yécora/Iekora, not of the place itself. Located a little over a kilometer from the village, it was built between the 13th and 14th centuries; local tradition links its location to the apparition of the Virgin to a shepherd from Yécora named Berciján. The town, documented since the 11th century as Equora, was a hamlet of Laguardia until Charles II granted it the title of villa in 1669.
