La Roca de la Sierra
Village
Municipality of 1,454 inhabitants (2025) at 248 m altitude. Acquired in 1625 by Juan Antonio de Vera y Figueroa as the 'Villa de Manzanete,' it changed its name to La Roca de la Sierra in 1628 by royal decree, in reference to the noble title of Count of la Roca held by its new lord; the name was formalized in 1916.
Monasterio de San Isidro de Loriana
Monument
Franciscan convent complex founded in 1551, today abandoned and cited by various heritage sources among Extremadura's at-risk monuments. The 15th-century parish church of Nuestra Señora del Prado preserves Gothic portals and a star-ribbed vault; the municipality also has a medieval three-arch stone bridge.
