A medieval village of the Zona Media, set on a hill between Olite and Ujué, with about 350 inhabitants and an economy centered on viticulture.
La cripta románica de San Martín de Unx
Monument
The church of San Martín, the oldest of the three the town once had, was built in the 12th century and consecrated to Santa María and San Martín on 3 November 1156. Beneath its apse, to overcome the slope of the terrain, a monumental crypt was built, reached by a spiral staircase: six large columns support capitals with wild beasts baring their jaws, leaves, and bearded human heads, in one of the most singular Romanesque ensembles in Navarre.
Bodega cooperativa y Día del Rosado
Food and drink
San Martín de Unx is home to one of the oldest wine cooperatives in Spain, founded in 1914, whose rosés, covered by the Denominación de Origen Navarra, enjoy special recognition. The village dedicates the first Sunday of June to the "Día del Rosado" ("Rosé Day"), with tastings and wine-related activities.
