What to see and do in Berzosilla

Berzosilla
Village
Berzosilla is a municipality of around 45 inhabitants that forms an exclave of the province of Palencia between Cantabria and Burgos, one of the few cases in Spain where an exclave lies between two provinces other than its own; it can only be reached through the Cantabrian municipality of Valderredible. The brief passage of the río Ebro through its municipal area makes it the only point where this river crosses the province of Palencia. It groups together four villages, Báscones de Ebro, Berzosilla, Cuillas del Valle and Olleros de Paredes Rubias, which joined the Unesco Geoparque Las Loras in 2017.
Church of San Vítores de Berzosilla
Monument
A single-nave church with access through a round arch on the Epistle side. Its main altarpiece is from the mid-sixteenth century and was gilded in 1641, with reliefs, painted panels and a sculpture of the patron saint.
Rock carvings of the La Caldera cave
Curiosity
In the immediate surroundings of the village opens the cave of La Caldera, where rock carvings are preserved that attest to a very ancient occupation of this corner of the valley, on the northeastern edge of the province.
