Las Ventas de San Julián
Village
Las Ventas de San Julián is a municipality in the comarca of La Campana de Oropesa, in the province of Toledo, with 239 inhabitants (INE 2025), on the plain of the Campo Arañuelo, facing the Sierra de Gredos, among holm oaks, cork oaks and scrubland. Its name combines the invocation of San Julián with the ventas, inns for travellers and shepherds, of which it came to have three in the 18th century despite its small population; it belonged to the lordship of Oropesa and the diocese of Ávila. It preserves the parish church dedicated to its patron saint, the upper and lower wash-houses and a stone Way of the Cross. From 3 to 6 September the festivities in honour of San Julián are held, with mass, procession and an open-air dance.
