Alcoroches
Village
Municipality of the Señorío de Molina comarca, in the province of Guadalajara, with part of its municipal area included in the Alto Tajo natural park, covered with Scots pine, Pyrenean oak groves and holm oaks. It was one of the few villages to buy its sovereignty from Molina de Aragón in the Middle Ages. It preserves the church of Santa María la Mayor and the hermitages of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad and Santa Ana, and celebrates its festivities from 21 to 24 August in honour of San Timoteo, to whom villagers sing at dawn asking for improvements for the village. Its economy is based on construction, livestock farming and agriculture, with big- and small-game hunting in its hills; in its gastronomy morcilla (blood sausage), chorizo and lamb stand out, and in pastry the rollos and tortas. It has 117 inhabitants (INE, 2025).
