What to see and do in Heras de Ayuso

Heras de Ayuso
Village
Heras de Ayuso is a municipality of the comarca of La Alcarria, in the province of Guadalajara, with 248 inhabitants (INE 2025), a figure similar to the 263 it had in the mid-19th century after a decline and subsequent recovery linked to its proximity to Madrid and the arrival of immigrant population engaged in asparagus picking. It preserves the church of San Miguel Arcángel and the remains of the 17th-century palace that belonged to the dukes of the Infantado and of Osuna. Its festivals are spread through the year: San Isidro on 15 May, San Juan on 24 June, with religious celebrations, street parades and open-air dances, and San Miguel on 29 September, with bullfighting events and musical performances.
