Valverdejo
Village
Valverdejo is a municipality in the comarca of La Manchuela Conquense, in the province of Cuenca, with 86 inhabitants (INE 2025) over 32.47 km². In the mid-19th century it had 294 inhabitants, when the dictionary of Pascual Madoz, which described it in 1849 in its fifteenth volume, recorded it as having seventy-four houses spread over three unpaved streets. Its parish church, already mentioned then, is dedicated to Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, patroness of a village whose layout has barely changed since the 19th century.

Monument
Parish church of Valverdejo (La Manchuela Conquense, Cuenca), already mentioned by Pascual Madoz in his geographical dictionary of 1849. According to that same dictionary, the church was then an annexe of the parish of Barchín del Hoyo, a neighbouring town on which it depended ecclesiastically.

Pascual Madoz's dictionary of 1849 described Valverdejo as having 74 poorly built houses spread over three unpaved streets. Today the municipality has barely more than eighty inhabitants.
