A 17th- and 18th-century hermitage located on the Plaza de la Concepción in Quintanar del Rey, considered the most important of the town's four hermitages. With a single nave, it ends at the head with a hemispherical dome crowned by a lantern, a feature that sets it apart from the other chapels, and it has a facade of a very distinctive composition. It forms a group with the hermitages of San Antón, San Pedro and Santa Lucía.

Ordained a priest in 1872, he pursued further studies in Valencia and served as teacher and secretary at the seminaries of Tui and Cuenca alongside Bishop Juan María Valero y Nacarino.
