Church of San Esteban de Aramil Monument · Siero, Oviedo, Asturias A 12th-century Romanesque church located in the concejo of Siero, between the villages of Rebollada and Tras la Cuadra, about six kilometres from Pola de Siero and twenty-two from Oviedo. It has a doorway with decorated archivolts and a semicircular apse lined with carved corbels, and is considered one of the finest examples of rural Romanesque architecture in central Asturias. Throughout its history it has borne different names: it appears cited as the church of San Esteban de Tabladiello in the Libro becerro of don Gutierre, and it has also been called San Esteban de los Caballeros; the name Aramil, by which it is known today, was not used again until the mid-18th century. It is protected as a cultural asset. Photo: Ángel M. Felicísimo from Mérida, España (CC BY-SA 2.0) What to see and do in Siero
