The Festival del Arroz con Leche has been held in the concejo of Cabranes since 1980, coinciding with the local feast of San Francisco de Paula. On Sunday morning the Cofradía del Arroz con Leche names as Grand Master the person who, by virtue of age, holds the most awards from previous editions, and the town council pays tribute to the concejo's elders; the Mercáu Tradicional de Artesanía y Productos Agroalimentarios is also held. The day includes the saint's procession, the handing out and sale of servings of the dessert, and a competition, with prizes awarded around two in the afternoon. It was declared a festival of regional tourist interest in 2004.
