What to see and do in Ezkio-Itsaso

Ezkio-Itsaso
Village
Municipality of Goierri with 604 inhabitants (2025), created in 1965 by the merger of the settlements of Ezkio and Itsaso; after an attempted separation in 2016, the Supreme Court reversed it and the municipality was reconstituted in 2020. In the 1930s, the area was the site of alleged Marian apparitions: they began on 30 June 1931, when the siblings Antonia and Andrés Bereciartua claimed to see the Virgin for the first time; the Catholic Church declared them false in 1933.
