In the parish of Atios is concentrated one of the largest groupings of quarries in Europe, with a capacity of hundreds of thousands of tonnes a year of the so-called rosa Porriño, a granite of pink microcline that clads buildings on five continents; stonecutting is here both trade and industry and explains the strength of the stone sector across the whole comarca.
