Mount Xesteiras

A 716-metre summit in the municipality of Cuntis, on the boundary with La Estrada and Valga, crossed by the PR-G 136 route of As Canteiras da Pedra Mona, which passes through Magán, Requián and Vilariño. At its top stand the Alto de las Tres Laguiñas, the Curro de Xesteiras in Couselo, the Pedra da Aguia, the Xesteiras quarries and the Piedra de los Soldados; the mountain also holds a Meteogalicia weather radar, crowned by a large sphere visible from afar. From the summit one can see the Rías Bajas, the Santiago de Compostela area and the neighbouring comarcas. In its pastures roams free the herd of horses that is rounded up every summer in the curro where the rapa is held.
